2019  Incentive Fund Award submission deadline, January 31st, 2020

1/13/2020

Picture
Incentive Fund submission deadline for 2019 is January 31st!!!!

If you’ve already sent in your entry, don’t worry, watch your real mailbox for MONEY!

Catrina does send out an email to let you know she’s received each submittal, that can take up to a few days though.

* Just posting to Facebook is not enough to enter.*

**Just sending an email that you competed is NOT ENOUGH.**

YOU MUST FOLLOW THE RULES OR YOU WILL MISS OUT ON THE MONEY.

Incentive Awards Program 2019 - $5000 to share! Deadline for submission:  JANUARY 31ST, 2020.

The incentive program is only available for people competing in recognized events. If you are not sure if the events you have competed in count, please contact Catrina.
To participate:
  1. Must be a member in good standing with the ATAA as of March 31st of 2019.

  1. Horse competing must be registered (not pending) with the ATAA either as a pure or part bred.

  1. Send in 2 or more pictures from the event (must be 375kb or bigger) If you placed please send a picture with your ribbon and/or prize.

  1. Sign a release that the ATAA may post photos and results to our website and use photos in promotions for the ATAA-

  1. Email the link to the results page for the event

  1. Wait for your check.

Just sending photos in for the newsletter and/or website is NOT enough (but we appreciate it).  Just posting on Facebook is not enough (although we congratulate you for getting our breed known!)
At the end of the year the ATAA will send you a check, so the more you compete the larger your share of the "jackpot" will be. The amount you receive will be divided out of the set amount in the awards fund and therefore will depend on how many people participate in the Incentive Program. The Incentive Program does not depend on you placing or earning points, it is completely about competing in recognized events in all disciplines and sending in the above listed information to the association.

Contact Catrina Quantrell for more information and send your results to her at: [email protected]

  • In 2019, we spearheaded the SANA (Stewardship Awards of North America) Rare Breeds Show, during the Western States Horse Expo, in Sacramento, CA.

  • In 2019, we launched an ambitious grant-supported program to further assist with the registration of North American Akhal-Teke horses in the closed Russian Studbook (VNIIK). We brought over Nadja Tarasova and Artur Baboev to help with VNIIK registration issues.  We filmed the beginning of what will be online tutorial videos to help with various issues.

  • We had an amazing ATAA Conference in Canada in October, with excellent speakers, food and a clinic on Akhal-Teke horses with an Olympic dressage rider.

  • We’re continuing the Incentive Fund Awards, which have grown every year, as well as Discipline and Volunteer awards. All these projects are made possible through generous donations, grants, and YOUR membership dollars.

  • We have big plans for 2020, including a Grading Tour with Nadezhda Abramova, Nadja Tarasova and Artur Baboev.

Please continue supporting our community, and share with a friend!

2020  AT Grading Tour Announcement!

11/8/2019

Attention all Akhal-Teke owners in N. America!  The Akhal-Teke Association of America is currently working on a 2020 VNIIK Grading Tour for late spring.  We will be bringing Nadezdha Abramova, Nadja Tarasova, and Artur Baboev for approximately 2 weeks.   We are specifically wanting at least 8-10 horses per location. If there are several farms within a few hours of each other that can mutually come up with a location to bring all the horses together for inspection (fairgrounds? nearby horse facility?) , that would be ideal.   If you are interested in having your horse(s) officially graded for the Russian Stud Book, please contact Betsy Wandler at [email protected] or on fb for information or questions.

DEADLINE FOR  VNIIK REGISTRATION  SOON!

9/26/2019

Picture
Attention everyone!!
VNIIK wants to stop accepting purebred AT registration for older non-VNIIK registered horses soon (older horses that not have been VNIIK registered yet).   This means that the day is coming that if your horses are NOT in the closed VNIIK studbook, they will NOT be considered Purebred Akhal-Tekes.
They want current year foals registered by October 1st (or the process started):
Please:
  • Fill out the VNIIK Foal form (for horses of ALL ages if not already VNIIK registered)- sire and dams need VNIIK numbers, not the ATAA numbers. (Questions, see below)
  • Fill out ATAA registration form
  • Take photos, fill in markings in application in RED INK.
  • Send forms, photos and fees to the Registration Secretary to start the process. PayPal and email is ok.
Don’t panic if your horse’s older relatives aren’t VNIIK registered  We have a grant to help with that:
‘Previously unregistered purebred ancestors will be “noted” in VNIIK with a foal registration number for a fee of approximately $41 per unregistered ancestor or parent, paid by our grant.
This is instead of a full blown VNIIK passport of each unregistered parent/ancestor of $186 each. Contact the registrar or Registration Secretary to see if your horse’s ancestors qualify for this program.  YOU STILL NEED TO PAY FOR YOUR HORSE’S VNIIK REGISTRATION!!!!’
Questions:  Ask Amrita at [email protected] or Cathy at [email protected]
