If no one else can bring horses we can offer 4-5 horses to have other people ride in the clinic. This clinician is an excellent teacher and is wonderful to watch or to ride with. I really hope everyone can take something away from this weather watching, or riding. I also really hope this is an opportunity for us as ambassadors of the breed to be able to show some of the public what these horses can do. If any of you know anyone with a Teke that would be interested in bringing a Teke or two or anyone who would be interested in riding please let me know. I will give first come to those brining horses, and if there is enough interest from riders I will do a raffle for the riders spots. Talks on: Equine Sports Medicine, Marketing your Equine, Equine Nutrition, Welcome to the Akhal-Teke breed (public invited), Saddle fitting, Awards Banquet, and a clinic with Megan Lang - Canadian Dressage Team, Olympic, WEG rider, pan American medalist. There will be 2 clinic spots raffled off to attending conference goers, with the use of Akhal-Valley horses. We are also negotiating for special guests from Russia – information to be announced later! This will be a jam-packed Conference at a lovely facility! Circle the dates on your calendar. Watch this website for further details. Just a few photos to enjoy! We will put more up later, along with names of both horses and riders.
We had 38 horses come to sunny Sacramento during the Western States Horse Expo, May 9-12th, 2019. I'm pretty sure it was a big hit from the comments, most which seemed to be to the tune of 'When we do this next year'. Everyone looked like they were having a good time, horses all behaved well (almost all of the time, lol), much food was eaten, questions answered, photos taken and lots of networking and making new friends! As I'm still writing up results and playing catch-up, here are the Most Versatile Awards. Most Versatile Awards - These awards were given to the horse in each category that competed in at least two disciplines, such as dressage and jumping, dressage and obstacles, jumping and obstacles, or all three. Tekes or Teke crosses also needed to be in an In-Hand breed class. Our sponsors sponsored the classes and also bought lovely coolers for all awards (except the Rare Breed Pony - we awarded a lovely engraved plate as the ponies ranged from 12 hands to 15+ and we couldn't quite figure out how to do a cooler for that) Most Versatile Awards: Most Versatile Rare Breed Pony or Cross - sponsored by Penny Thom, JPT Gingerbread Li'l Gypsy Cobs, LLC, Carson City NV Qualified Horses: #150 Fell Legend Holy Toledo #104 Brough Hill Hadrian's Wall #111- Circle H Glen Livit And the winner is: #150 Fell Legend Holy Toledo! Most Versatile Rare Breed Horse- sponsored by The Irish Draught Horse Society of North America Qualified Horses: #123 Dream Boy Kurt #108 MCD's Joshua's Bobbi And the winner is: #123 Dream Boy Kurt Most Versatile Rare Breed Cross horse- sponsored by Steadfast Farms, Tuttle, OK, Boutique Breeder of Select Hackney Horses and Hackney Crosses for Sport.
