From Francine Anderson riding the stallion Eramay:
The ride was at Boars Head Ranch in Dade City Florida. It was called the South Creek Foxhounds Hunter Pace and we were in the endurance class. It consisted of 2 loops of 8 miles with a minimum 10 minute break between. We completed each loop in about 1 hour. There were many jumps along the way which he jumped very willingly. I think Eramay really enjoyed it, I sure did! On June 9th Eramay will be at an AWS inspection. Will let you know what happens. Francine

Here is latest update on the airings on HRTV of the Akhal-Teke TV Episode. Since horse people typically enjoy seeing information on other breeds as well, I've posted the entire list of HorseFlicks programs airing over the next two weeks, including the Akhal-Teke episode, which airs again on June 1st and June 2nd. We hope you enjoy some of the other breeds featured as well!

Adams endurance ride this past weekend. This is a great ride – about 6 hours away, nice camping, just about perfect trails and views to kill for. We got there Friday night, got settled in and vetted and went for a short ride. My ankles were not happy, so we didn’t go far. We did some visiting around camp and then turned in for our early start the next day. We met Lisa Preston, who was there with her young Teke-Arab filly for her first LD ride. There was one other Teke cross there with Mona Thacker. Her Shiraz has been competing for quite a few years and has been racking up the miles. Click to read more... Sweet Water Farm Akahal-Teke is excited to announce the arrival of a filly on May 17th.
She is by Pan Tau and Pipi. Here she is not even a day old! Scott Sears DMV and his Gelding Aeolus ( barn name Clyde) got a 7th place finish in the 50 miles endurance ride named Barebones, in Cornish NH.
Aeolus is a 2001 pure bred Akhal-Teke gelding out of Alp x Samsa. We wish them a great season! Amrita Ibold and Jenny Rice of Sweet Water Farm Akhal-Teke represented the United States at the 2nd International Akhal-Teke Conference held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan April 2012.
Turkmenistan is sponsoring the collaboration of breeders and Associations from all over the world to promote and preserve the Akhal-Teke breed. For more information about the conference please look forward to posts on Tekes Tally- Ho. From Cascade Gold Akhal-Tekes: We're back from the Grizzly Endurance Ride in Madras, OR. It was lovely to ride in the sunshine on dry ground! Galen and I got 5th place in the 30 (actually 32) mile ride and were 3rd for BC, Wendy and Allie were 24th in the 50, and Monica and Danny were a few minutes overtime in the 32, but finished with all A's on his vet card and a happy look. Our next ride is Mt. Adams on May 19th. |
